It's All About the Money, Money, Money?
Like Peter Parker, we can choose to use our powers to make money and improve our lives. There's nothing wrong with that, because we all know that there are so many poor people in our country. For those techie, there are so many technology-related jobs here in the Philippines like call centers, web designers and social media management. There are also lots of online freelancers here in our country and they are earning a lot while working at home. The problem is, if we're just in it for the money, we miss the purpose of what we're doing. And we miss the chance to become a part of something bigger than ourselves.
Enjoy-Enjoy?
Sometimes, we don't choose this "Just Enjoy" path intentionally. Do you know the thinking; " I'm still young, I'll do something serious when I grow older?" -That's how we think.
Time passes very fast. We spend 4 years in highschool, another 4 years in college and others are spending 5 to 10 years. And then the working years starts. We will earn our own money and we still have energy, but we will be challenged to schedule the things that we really want to do.
There's nothing bad in enjoying. But then again, like what my mother told me: "Too much is bad". Because we young people tend to enjoy too much: in boyfriend-girlfriend relationships; computer games like DOTA, counter strike and candy crush; and the bonding time with peers. And if our enjoyment is already too much, we tend to neglect the important things in our lives, like taking a bath, eating meals on time and studying hard.
eople has less expectations to teenagers today. They say that young people has very short attention span; Not reading books; Only interested mainly in showbiz; Being hooked to internet watching anythin In short, ordinary.
In some places in Metro Manila and in provinces, their expectations to teenagers will be pregnant or become a father at a very young age; Being dropped-out in college and being so dependent to their parents.
Yes, teenagers have lots of potentials. But if we will not use the potentials that we have, there will be no use for that and even yourself will be useless.
Be #SuperEpic! Don't wait for your Uncle Ben moment. Be full of action.
The bible has reminder for us:
" You who are young, make the most of your youth. Relish your youthful vigor. Follow the impulses of your heart. If somerhing looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; You have to answer to God for every last bit of it. Live footloose and fancy-free, you won't be young forever. Youth lasts about as long as smoke."
Even if we're still young, let's make a difference. We should put something extra into our ordinary life. Let's use our talents and skills for God's Glory and for our family. Then let's put more extra. Let's transcend ourselves and connect to a higher purpose.
Are you still feeling ordinary? Don't worry, you can prepare yourself for action. So stay tuned for my next blog, because it's all about our training for action.
Ciao ~
